In this capacity, she is responsible for processing applications for clients based in Texas, Virginia and Hawaii, and holds a National Mortgage License. Looking toward the future, she seeks to obtain a license for the state of Florida, and is in the process of becoming a certified financial planner in order to assist customers in managing their finances and properties.
Before becoming a mortgage lender, Ms. Thomas earned distinction through her service in the U.S. Army, where she specialized in logistics and the maintenance of ammunition. Throughout the course of her duties, she rose to the rank of captain, and served in Hawaii with the 25th Infantry Division for over five years. She had previously studied the German language and systems engineering at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in 2017. In honor of her performance during this time, Ms. Thomas was decorated with various accolades, and remains active as an army reservist.
Greatly dedicated to her local community, Ms. Thomas has participated in cleanup efforts for nearby beaches through the Aloha chapter of Rocks Inc., where she served as the vice president of operations. Furthermore, she maintains her affiliation with a nonprofit organization that her mother founded, which seeks to raise awareness and funds for sick cell disease research.
Outside of her work in finance and military service, Ms. Thomas is also a published author, having released “Richard’s Burden” via Dorrance Publishing Co. Inc. in 2020. The book regales readers with the story of Angela, a popular girl who must contend with both her past and status as a person of color in an exclusive school environment. In the near future, Ms. Thomas hopes to continue her career as a writer with another foray into the themes explored in “Richard’s Burden,” as well as with an unrelated novel that she aspires to publish as well.
