Prior to his current appointment, he was the director of royalty operations for the company from 2006 to 2010, having originally joined in 2001 as a senior royalty manager. At the onset of his career in 1981, Mr. Poirier worked as an accountant and law office manager for William R. Dickerson & Associates in Los Angeles, California. He also honorably served in the United States Army as a finance specialist between 1967 and 1969.
Over the course of his career, Mr. Poirier has participated in numerous creative collaborations, notably participating as a contributor and photographer for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences since 1988. As part of his vocational journey, he also cultivated his higher education, earning a Bachelor of Science in accounting and journalism, summa cum laude, from Boston University in 1976. Additionally, he completed coursework pertaining to the entertainment industry, music accounting, law and writing at the University of California, Los Angeles between 1981 and 1986. Well-regarded for his accomplishments in the field, Mr. Poirier has been honored with numerous accolades, including being named the Studio City Local Businessperson of the Year in 2022 and 2023 and receiving a Universal Music Group Award for 20 Years of Dedicated Service from 2001 to 2021.
