Qantas launches revamped Frequent Flyer Marketplace – Business Traveller

Qantas has launched a Marketplace online shopping experience, enabling Frequent Flyer members to earn and redeem points on 900 brands and more than 20,000 products.

The revamped platform replaces the Qantas Rewards store, with members able to earn and redeem with 20 per cent more brands and over 1,000 new products.

New brands available on the platform include fitness specialists Peloton, Australian fashion designers Scanlan Theodore, Rebecca Vallance, bassike, Jac + Jack, Viktoria & Woods, BEC + BRIDGE, Country Road and Kirrikin, as well as Australian furniture and homeware designer brands MCM House and Dinosaur Designs.

In addition Qantas Loyalty said that Frequent Flyer members would earn at least three points per dollar spent going forward, up from the previous two.

An introductory offer also means that Points Club members will earn an additional three Qantas Points per dollar spent until June 30, 2023, while Points Club Plus members will earn an additional six points per dollar spent.

And an ongoing offer will see Points Club members benefit from a 5 per cent discount on the number of points required for purchases via the Qantas Marketplace, with Points Club Plus members benefitting from a 10 per cent discount.

The Qantas Marketplace sits alongside the existing Qantas Shopping platform, where Frequent Flyer members can earn points at more than 450 online retailers.

Commenting on the news Qantas Loyalty CEO Olivia Wirth, said:

“Our Frequent Flyers already earn more points on the ground than they do through travel. With Qantas Marketplace, we’re connecting them to hundreds of brands that they know and love, with the added benefit of being able to earn and use points.

“We know our members are always looking for more value and ways to boost their points balance, so we’ve increased the points earn rate on the platform too.

“Australia’s love of Qantas Points has seen us build strong partnerships with some of the country’s biggest brands. These connections are key to keeping our members engaged in the program and ultimately drive value for our business.”

In late 2021 Qantas announced a new Green tier for its Frequent Flyer loyalty programme, which sits alongside existing Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum and Platinum One flying tiers.

The initiative sees members rewarded with benefits including bonus Qantas points or status credits when they complete at least five “sustainable activities” across six areas.
