Recognized for over 30 years of experience in both military service and as a high-level executive, Mr. Thomas has garnered distinction as the founder and chief executive officer of Seraph Energy LLC, an energy company that seeks to utilize agricultural waste products as a renewable fuel source,  since 2020. Leveraging his expertise in strategic planning, fundraising, networking and business development, he is primarily responsible for technology development in collaboration with various strategic partners, as well as for acquisitions and daily operations. Crediting his success on the quality of his education, as well as the influence of various impeccable mentors, Mr. Thomas previously served as the director of strategy and planning at Vanguard Renewables, and as a senior policy advisor to U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal. 

Long dedicated to service on behalf of his country, Mr. Thomas is a former U.S. Navy commander and intelligence officer, having served in Iraq, Afghanistan and Kosovo from 1995 until 2012. In honor of his actions while stationed in Afghanistan he was bestowed with the Bronze Star, and was inducted into the Connecticut Veterans Hall of Fame in 2013. Driven by a sense of commitment to both veterans and his community, he has served as the chairman of the board of trustees for the Connecticut Department of Veteran Affairs, the vice chairman of the committee of trustees for the Hopkins School in New Haven, Connecticut, and the vice president of development for the United Way of Greater New Haven. Looking toward the future, Mr. Thomas hopes to reorient his business pursuits toward the fight against climate change.
