Margaret “Peggy” Stuntz, founder and president of the Kirkland Historical Society, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in historical preservation.

With several decades of experience to her credit, Ms. Stuntz has cultivated a career of excellence as an educator. In 2007, she founded the Kirkland Historical Society, where she continues to serves as president. Furthermore, she is the founder and organizer of the Music History Room in her hometown. In addition to her dedication to historical preservation, Ms. Stuntz previously operated as a substitute teacher and tutor in her community, and she is well-regarded for her creative output as a playwright and author. Some of her stage productions include “Historic and Haunted Séance,” “Death Fight in Love City,” and “The George Washington Bennett Wake.”

Prior to embarking on her vocational journey, Ms. Stuntz pursued a formal education at Southern Illinois University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1967. Additionally, she earned a teaching certification at Northern Illinois University. To commemorate her accomplishments, she was also honored as the Citizen of the Year in her community in 2020. In light of her fulfilling career, she largely attributes her success to her passion for and fascination with history. Ms. Stuntz is proud to have contributed to the historical preservation of her home, and she hopes to continue writing and directing plays in the coming years.
