Luxury hotel collection Maisons Pariente has announced that its fourth property will open in Paris this spring.
Le Grand Mazarin will open on June 15, 2023 in the French capital’s Marais district, located at the corner of Rue des Archives and Rue de la Verrerie within three historical buildings dating back to the 14th century.
The buildings have been restored by interior designer Martin Brudnizki and his London-based Design Studio, and are a modern play on French classicism. Expect “eclectic and flamboyant” interiors with whimsical touches and vintage objects.
The hotel will comprise 50 rooms and 11 suites, a restaurant with a winter terrace and two bars – one on the ground floor and another subterranean venue. The hotel’s restaurant, Boubalé (meaning ‘my little darling’ in Yiddish), will feature Mediterranean cuisine by chef Assaf Granit.
Leisure facilities at Le Grand Mazarin will include an indoor heated pool, jacuzzi, fitness centre and a hammam.
Brudnicki commented on his design, stating:
“I love the concept of the literary salon of yesteryear and this was one of the main sources of inspiration when designing Le Grand Mazarin. We wanted the hotel to feel as though it has always been a part of Le Marais’ landscape so we sought inspiration from the great houses of the aristocratic era, where figures from literature, art and music gathered in sumptuous residences, exchanging ideas and thoughts. Our concept of Le Grand Mazarin was to reignite this ambience for the modern day, where guests feel as though they have arrived home and have the freedom to express themselves.”
