Following obtaining an associate degree in business management from The Pennsylvania State University, Ms. Ebanks followed with a bachelor’s degree in business management from the University of Phoenix. She continued her education with a Master of Business Administration from the same school in 2010.
After dedicated service as a certified nursing assistant in private homes taking care of the elderly and in in several nursing homes and hospitals throughout Palm Beach County, Ms. Ebanks assisted the Department of Corrections for five years and with Youth Services of Palm Beach County as an intake secretary. Since 2016, she has found much success as chief executive officer, Edwards-Ebanks Residential Services, LLC, which provides nursing care to individuals in government-sponsored group homes, generally people who have complex health needs or intellectual disabilities such as Down syndrome.
According to Ms. Ebanks, the key to her success has been her ability to think of others more than herself, as well as treating them the way she would want to be treated. She developed a passion for taking care of the elderly ever since she noticed the prevailing substandard service in the industry and upon retiring, she started her own business with the goal of improving the quality of caregiving service and adding people with disabilities to her niche. According to Ms. Ebanks, being able to build her own group home business for which she has the passion and skill has been her career highlight. In the near future, she intends to continue growing her residential nursing business service, especially now that she has received a license to operate a second home.
