More than 5 million learners across the world skill up and earn resume-worthy credentials on Trailhead, all while discovering new career opportunities and connecting with the vibrant Trailblazer Community.
The rank of Trailhead Ranger, which requires at least 100 badges and 50,000 points, might not be the initial reason someone starts learning on Trailhead but it fast becomes a goal for those working their way through the vast content Trailhead provides. It can also signify that you’re ready to take the next step and earn a Trailhead superbadge or even a globally recognized Salesforce certification.
Road to Ranger
But how do you become a Trailhead Ranger? Where’s the best place to start?
The Road to Ranger was designed to create the perfect blend of badges and points to take the guesswork out of how to reach Ranger status.
It consists of three trailmixes (think of these as learning playlists).
- Trailmix 1 — Get started with the basics about Trailhead, Salesforce, and some important guiding principles.
- Trailmix 2 — Take a look at our technology.
- Trailmix 3 — Get hands-on and earn some points!
Learning is not a race
No matter what stage you’re at on Trailhead, the Road to Ranger trailmixes are for everyone. Work through them in sequential order to help build on the knowledge you gain along the way.
Everyone’s learning pace is different. Remember it’s not a race! Increasing your rank should take time and we have learned on average it takes around 4 months to reach Ranger.
Forming a learning plan can help. Some best practice tips for reaching Ranger status are:
- Schedule time in your day to dedicate to learning on Trailhead.
- Limit your learning to 4-5 badges a day to ensure you’re really absorbing all that knowledge.
- Learn by doing! Invest time in the hands-on challenges, they are worth 5 times more points than multiple choice quizzes.
- Download Trailhead GO so you can learn from your phone!
Don’t forget, if you’re already a Trailhead Ranger, you can continue to climb from Ranger to Double Star Ranger all the way up to All Star Ranger!
Sometimes, finding time to dedicate to Trailhead can be tricky. That’s where the Trailblazer Community can help!
Consider doing something similar and gathering online or in-person with your colleagues. Learning is a team sport, and sometimes it’s nice to be able to talk through a harder unit or hands-on challenge with someone else.
Many events are organized by your local Trailblazer Community Group so check in with your local group leader or start a group of your own!
