Keith T. Miller, PhD, Professor of Leadership at Virginia State University and Senior Consultant at the Penson Center for Professional Development, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in leadership, strategic planning and team development.
Since 2015, Dr. Miller has found success as a professor of leadership at Virginia State University and a senior consultant at the Penson Center for Professional Development with the American Association of State Colleges and Universities. Since 2010, he has held the designation of president emeritus at Lock Haven University. With a wealth of experience in academic leadership, Dr. Miller was the president of Virginia State University from 2010 to 2014 and the president of Lock Haven University from 2004 to 2010.
Alongside these posts, Dr. Miller served the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh as a provost and vice chancellor from 2001 to 2004. From 1994 to 2001, he was the dean of the Niagara University College of Business Administration, and from 1991 to 1994, he was the associate dean of the Quinnipiac College College of Business Administration. Dr. Miller began his career as a professor and MBA program director at Fairleigh Dickinson University.
In preparation for his career, Dr. Miller attended the University of Arizona and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in rehabilitation and education in 1976. He continued his studies at the same institution, earning a Master of Public Administration and a Doctor of Philosophy in education. Among his career accomplishments, Dr. Miller is proudest of developing leadership teams at universities.
Alongside his primary positions, Dr. Miller has found success through his writing. He co-authored “Leadership Theory Over Time” in The SAGE Encyclopedia of Higher Education in 2020. He authored “Entrepreneurship: Teaching the Basic Mindset” in the Journal of Literature and Arts Studies in 2018 and “Leadership on Demand” in 2018. Among his myriad published works, Dr. Miller also wrote “An MBA is Still the Degree” in the Graduate Studies Directory in 1992.
For his accomplishments, Dr. Miller received honorary doctorates from Niagara University and Virginia State University in 2022. He was named to the Virginia State University Wall of Fame and received the Governor’s Innovation Award in Virginia. To keep abreast of his field, Dr. Miller maintains membership with the American Marketing Association, the International Association of University Presidents, the United Nations Peacebuilding Commission, the National Alliance of Business, the American Arbitration Association and the National Association of MBA Executives.
