Ms. Shakoor was an operations manager with GoldWorks USA from 2001 to 2005 and a legal assistant with the Law Offices of Kerry L. Jackson PLLC from 1994 to 2001.
In preparation for her career, Ms. Shakoor earned a Bachelor of Science in business administration from Strayer University in 2004. She continued her higher education at Marygrove College, graduating in 2015 with a Master of Arts in social justice. Alongside her formal degrees, Ms. Shakoor holds a project management certification. Committed to her community, she was a social media manager for the Committee to Elect Eric Sabree in 2016, a Wayne County Commission research analyst from 2006 to 2008 and a staff assistant to the Westminster Presbyterian Church from 2002 to 2004. To keep abreast of her field, Ms. Shakoor is a member of the Michigan Women’s Attorney Association and the National Honor Society. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling and spending time in nature.
