Jerry Axelrod, Managing Director at Stark Capital Management, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in banking and investment management.
Mr. Axelrod obtained a Bachelor of Arts in social relations, cum laude, from Harvard College in Cambridge, Massachusetts in 1963. After graduating from Harvard, he went into his family’s office furniture business before he decided to go in the investment industry. Mr. Axelrod has been successful in investment banking, providing superior service as senior vice president with Donaldson, Lufkin and Jenrette from 1990 to 2001, senior vice president with the Institutional Investor Group at Citigroup Smith Barney from 2001 to 2009, managing director with Burnham Securities Inc. from 2010 to 2011 and managing director with financial services firm Stark Capital Management since the latter year.
Avidly interested in community affairs, Mr. Axelrod has chaired the Anti-Defamation League’s southwest region and was a founding board member of the Houston Children’s Museum and Orchestra X, which provides mental health services in some of Chicago’s most distressed neighborhoods. In addition, he is on the advisory board of Interface Ministries.
Mr. Axelrod considers his most notable achievement is the work that he does with individuals, as what they achieve gives them a better lifestyle. In the coming years, he is hoping to build Stark Capital even larger, and more importantly, to make sure that the clients can withstand all the trials and tribulations they face in the market.
