Janet V. Haynes, chairperson of the African American Endowment Fund of the Ann Arbor Area Community Foundation, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the field of business development.
With over 40 years of experience to her credit, Ms. Haynes is a proven expert in the field of business development and administration. Since 2002, she has served as the chairperson of the African American Endowment Fund, as part of the Ann Arbor Area Community Foundation (AAACF), where she oversees grant applications and ensures all grants provided are used in support of her company’s positive mission. She previously operated as a church administrator for the Unitarian Universalist Association for 12 years. In her other civic-minded endeavors, she was previously a member of the board of directors and chair of the committee for Habitat for Humanity of Washtenaw County for five years. Ms. Haynes originally began her career working as an office manager for the Historical Society of Michigan.
As part of her vocational journey, Ms. Haynes pursued a formal education, earning a master’s degree in choral music education at the University of Michigan. She has also remained affiliated with Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. since 1990, serving as the chair of the scholarship and recognition committee and as the assistant treasurer of her local chapter. To commemorate her efforts in the field, she was honorably recognized by the distribution committee chair of her department at the AAACF. Attributing much of her success to her faith and desire to help others, she is notably proud to have led a major campaign for her company which allowed them to raise their funds to more than $800,000. In the coming years, Ms. Haynes hopes to continue contributing to her community and helping to improve the lives of its citizens.
