Since 2020, Mr. Keen has worked as a regional environmental inspector with BJ Inspections Inc. He previously garnered experience with Equitrans Midstream from 2019 to 2020 and the Mountain Valley Pipeline from 2018 to 2019. With expertise in heavy equipment operations and gas pipelines, Mr. Keen works for provider companies and ensures that crews follow permitted environmental measures when building and relocating gas pipelines. He began his career as a general contractor, pipeliner and utility inspector before working as a superintendent for EMATS Inc. in 2007. From 1991 to 2005, he served in the Virginia Army National Guard.
Eminently qualified, Mr. Keen holds numerous professional certifications. In 2018, he earned certification as an API 1169 Pipeline Construction Inspector with the American Petroleum Institute. He completed 30-Hour Construction Safety and Health Training with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration in 2015 and was certified in Kentucky Surface Mining by the Mine Safety and Health Administration in 2013. For his military service, Mr. Keen earned an Army Commendation Medal in 2004. He also earned an Operation Iraqi Freedom Medal, an Overseas Ribbon, a Unit Citation Ribbon, a Combat Action Badge, an Army Achievement Medal and an Army Service Ribbon, among other honors. In the coming years, Mr. Keen plans to enjoy continued success in his current position.
