Frank Foss, Government Relations Senior Manager at Comcast Communications, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in community liaisonship.
Following obtaining an associate degree from Axia College in Phoenix and completing coursework in business and public administration from Massachusetts Bay Community College in 1975, Mr. Foss subsequently earned a Bachelor of Science in business and public administration from the University of Phoenix in 2011. After providing superior service in public relations for Time Warner, Cablevision, Media One and AT&T Broadband, Mr. Foss owned and operated the flooring firm F. W. Foss, Co., Inc. from 1981 to 1992. As a municipal liaison to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts with MA CATV from 1992 to 1995, he advised municipalities’ leaders on matters relating to initial and renewal licensing among other aspects of CATV (cable television) systems.
Since 1995, Mr. Foss has prospered as senior manager of government and community relations with telecommunications firm Comcast Cable, now known as Xfinity, for whom he acted as a conduit between municipalities and the company, negotiated franchises and oversaw relations between the company and non-government organizations. Since 2007, in what he considers to be a career highlight, he has served as town moderator of Natick, Massachusetts, in which he acts as a presiding non-voting officer over a 180-member legislative body. Mr. Foss attributes his success to the fact that he has focused on just one industry, cable television and internet, which enabled him to grow, see the patterns of successes, and know the most effective tools to use to be able to reach desirable outcomes. He is hoping to continue volunteering in local government in the coming years and desires to work with instructors at the high school level to increase awareness of the students about what their civic engagement entails.
