Barbara Kerr Beckmann, Senior Economic Advisor at ExxonMobil, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the fossil fuel industry.
Since 1961, Ms. Beckmann has found success as a senior economic advisor with ExxonMobil. In preparation for her career in the fossil fuel industry, she attended the University of Mississippi and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering in 1961. Her areas of expertise include refinery processing, optimization of units, and general economics.
Alongside her primary career endeavors, Ms. Beckmann has been committed to civic engagement. She has volunteered with the United Way and Kiwanis Club and is a mentor to young professionals. In addition, she has volunteered with the Family Services & Emerge Center and served as an assistant treasurer and administrator for a local church.
Ms. Beckmann is proud of being the first female engineering graduate from the University of Mississippi. With 60 years of experience to her credit, she has been named to the American Business Women’s Association’s Top 10 Business Women, an honor she considers the highlight of her career. She also earned a Distinguished Alumni Award from the University of Mississippi and a Trailblazer Award from the Youth Women’s Christian Association.
For her professional excellence, Ms. Beckmann has been featured in Who’s Who of Professional Women and the Marquis Who’s Who Millennium Magazine. She is also the recipient of the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. To keep abreast of developments in her field, Ms. Beckmann has maintained affiliation with the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, the American Business Learner’s Association, and the Quota Club.
Ms. Beckmann became involved in her profession after graduating college and being offered an engineering position. Often, she was summarily rejected from engineering jobs because she was a woman. In the coming years, she hopes to continue working in her current post.
