American Airlines reopens first class lounge at Heathrow – Business Traveller

American Airlines has reopened its first class lounge at Heathrow Terminal 3, after a three-year closure due to Covid-19.

The space has undergone “a cosmetic refresh”, and a new kitchen has been installed, allowing the carrier to offer “an extensive buffet offering and a premium á la carte menu”.

Other facilities at the 120-capacity lounge include a champagne station, as well as “top-of-the-range bean to cup coffee machines and an extensive wine and spirits list”.

Unfortunately photography of the reopened space has yet to be carried out – AA said it would provide images to Business Traveller when available, and we’ll update this page accordingly.

The lounge is located on the departures level of T3, beyond passport control in lounge area H, and is open daily from 0530 to 1900.

Entry is reserved for AA customers flying in first class, as well as oneworld customers travelling in first class on a same day international flight marketed and operated by American or a oneworld airline.

For oneworld Emerald members (including ConciergeKey, AAvantage Executive Platinum and Platinum Pro), the lounge is available for those travelling on any same-day flight marketed and operated by American or a oneworld airline.

Commenting on the news Rhett Workman, managing director, strategic performance and UK operations, said:

“Our London Heathrow First Class Lounge aims to further enhance the customer experience for our valued guests, whether they are travelling between the US and Europe or connecting beyond Heathrow.

“At American, we want to continue reinvesting in our products and services to best meet the needs of all our passengers, especially at a time when seamless travel is key.”

Earlier this month American Airlines and British Airways unveiled a new bar within the carriers’ recently-opened Greenwich Lounge at New York JFK Terminal 8.
