I had the opportunity to sit down with Rich “Big Daddy” Salgado and talk about his recent recognition that took place in Nassau County. Salgado is the CEO of Coastal Advisors, LLC Insurance Consultants & CCO of Gas It Up, Inc. How many people can say that they have a day named after them? Well, Big Daddy can as Nassau County declared this day on March 7, 2023. A big congrats to him!
Salgado is a big man with a big heart. He has friends everywhere and is always giving back to the community. He attended the University of Maryland on a football scholarship and since he didn’t make it as a professional player, he formed Coastal Advisors, LLC Insurance Consultants. “I wanted to make sure that all my teammates and other athletes were protected. My business has evolved and led me to other opportunities like Super Bowl Correspondent work for FOX & Friends morning show on FOX News Network. I’m also the Chief Communications officer of Gas It Up, lnc., a mobile fuel provider for autonomous fleets and daily drivers and lastly, I’m the host of the Big Daddy & Friends Podcast on Sportsnaut.com.”
As mentioned above, Congratulations on the honorary Big Daddy Day. “Thank you! I’m beyond grateful to Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman and Nassau County Attorney, Tom Adams who gave me this incredible honor. They recognize the work I do in the community my involvement with The Big Daddy Youth Football Camp along with my brother Jimmy who is an NFL Coach, The Big Daddy Celebrity Golf Classic & The SHER Women’s Empowerment Group which I am also an ambassador for.” That’s a big load to carry and I know you bring so many people out to attend and support these events so great job! Next up is the Big Daddy Celebrity Golf Outing this June 26. “It sure is! This year, we will be supporting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the SHER Women’s Empowerment Group, which was founded by my best friend, Anzhelika Steen-Olsen.”
Let’s talk about the world today. Things are different and there’s so much confusion that goes through the mind of our youth. What are you doing to help these kids today. “I try to be as real as possible; I think kids are a lot smarter and are exposed to much more than when I was growing up. Kids lack discipline since they don’t fend as much for themselves. As a child, everything we got was earned and it came with hard work. My brother’s and I were disciplined, and I believe that is what has attributed to our success. My brother Lewis is in the insurance business and my brother Jimmy is an NFL Coach. We all continue to work hard and bring that work ethic forth in everything that we do.” Great work indeed!
I know you’re working on a few projects as well as talk about bringing Gas It Up company to Nassau County. “Yes, this will continue to create revenues and job opportunities right in our own backyard and our founder, Victor Rodriguez, is also from Long Island. www.gasitup.com, I’ve been working on commercial real estate projects that will provide affordable housing along with real estate mogul, Sam Liebman, Neil Tepper, Michael Liebman, and Nick Brusseler. Our goal is to help educate people on how and when to purchase real estate and make it profitable to create a lifetime of wealth for generations. www.wealthwayequitygroup.com.
Keep up the great work! We are excited to continue to cover your journey. “Thank you and I look forward to seeing you at the Big Daddy Celebrity Golf Classic.”
